Why Doesn't ChatGPT Recommend My Business? 6 Reasons and How to Fix Each

A dental clinic in Singapore shows up when people ask ChatGPT for a dentist when its treatments, dentists, hours, location and prices are written down plainly and match on every website the AI reads. You can do all of it within Singapore's rules on healthcare advertising, because those rules ask for facts, and facts are what ChatGPT repeats.

What do patients ask ChatGPT about dentists?

They ask in full sentences, often in a hurry or in pain. For example:

  • "Emergency dentist open now near Bishan"
  • "How much are dental implants in Singapore and who does them?"
  • "Dentist who is good with anxious patients near Tampines"
  • "Wisdom tooth removal cost and which clinic to use"

ChatGPT answers with a few clinic names, and often a map. It picks the clinics it can describe: what they treat, where they are, when they are open and roughly what it costs.

What did ChatGPT say when we asked how a clinic gets named?

On 30 October 2026 we asked ChatGPT and Claude, "How can my dental clinic in Singapore show up when people ask ChatGPT for a dentist?" Neither named any person or company who could help. Both gave general advice instead. So if you want help, you have to know where to look, and if you want to do it yourself, the steps below are the ones that matter.

What are the advertising rules for dental clinics in Singapore?

Clinic advertising falls under the Healthcare Services Act and its advertisement regulations, and dentists also follow the Singapore Dental Council's ethical code. In plain words:

  • No praise of yourself. The Ministry of Health says laudatory statements are not allowed, even if they are true. "The best implant dentist in Singapore" is out.
  • No testimonials where you control the content. Do not quote patients' praise on your website or social pages.
  • Do not ask patients for positive reviews. The Dental Council's code says dentists must not ask or induce patients to write positive testimonials. Paying a platform for review packages is risky for the same reason.

This rules out the usual "get more five-star reviews" advice. It does not rule out anything below. When in doubt, check the current rules with the Ministry of Health or the Singapore Dental Council.

What should a dental clinic in Singapore fix first?

  1. List every treatment as its own item. Implants, Invisalign, wisdom tooth removal, children's dentistry, emergency appointments. If it is not written down, ChatGPT cannot match it to a question.
  2. Name your dentists. Name, qualifications and what each one does. ChatGPT can describe a named dentist. It cannot do much with "our friendly team".
  3. Get your opening hours right everywhere. Especially evenings, weekends and public holidays. "Dentist open now" questions are decided almost entirely on hours.
  4. Say where you are in the words patients use. The neighbourhood, the nearest MRT station and parking.
  5. Publish prices or ranges where you can. Cost is in a lot of dental questions. A plain fee list is a fact, not a boast.
  6. Say which payment options you accept. MediSave, CHAS, insurance or instalments. Patients add these to their questions.
  7. Answer the questions patients ask before booking. Does it hurt, how long does it take, how many visits. Each under its own heading, in plain words.
  8. Complete your Google Business Profile. Services, hours, photos and your booking link. This feeds the map ChatGPT shows.
  9. Match your name, address and phone across every listing. Health directories, booking platforms and your own site.

FAQ

Can my dental clinic ask patients for Google reviews in Singapore?

Only with care. The Singapore Dental Council's code says dentists must not ask or induce patients to write positive testimonials, and the Ministry of Health does not allow laudatory statements in clinic advertising. Focus on plain facts about your clinic instead, and check with the Dental Council if you are unsure.

How can my dental clinic in Singapore show up in ChatGPT?

Write down every treatment, your dentists, your hours, your location and your prices in plain words. Make those facts match on your website, your Google Business Profile and every directory you are on. Check what ChatGPT says about you once a month.

Do I need a new website?

Usually you do not. Most fixes are words on the pages you already have and details on your listings. Your web person can make them in an afternoon or two.

How long before ChatGPT names my clinic?

There is no fixed timetable and nobody can promise one. Changes to your own pages can be picked up once ChatGPT reads them again. Changes that depend on other websites take longer.
